Looking for a place to breathe out and relax? The Atlantic in Byron Bay could be the perfect answer. Byron Bay is well known for it’s chilled, beach vibe. Part hippy, part backpacker, part surfer’s paradise, part well-heeled retreat – Byron is an eclectic mix of visitors and locals. The Atlantic fits nicely into this diverse community.

Decorated in the soothing blues and creams of coastal decor, The Atlantic is nestled amongst palms trees, lush green gardens, and manicured lawns. The rooms feature en-suites with Aveda amenities and are fitted out with ceiling fans, air conditioning, and beach towels. You can borrow bicycles and surfboards if you fancy heading off for an early morning swim or surf.

Nearby each of the rooms and cottages is minimalist communal living and kitchen spaces. A lap pool is available for that late afternoon dip before you relax with a glass of wine by the pit fire. In the morning you’ll be woken by the sounds of the nearby ocean, birds and local wildlife. he Atlantic’s location is near cafes, restaurants and shops and a short walk to Main Beach. If you’re driving, there’s limited off and on street parking.

I found it a wonderfully relaxing place to be within easy reach of cafes but with the flexibility to cook your meals and chill in your room after a busy day sightseeing.

Tips:

  • The rooms facing the gardens are quieter and get the sun in the mornings
  • Book early in the holidays periods and the summer season. Byron Bay gets busy that time of year
  • There’s a flying fox colony nearby – so be prepared for the sounds of birds and bats n the evening and morning
  • Espresso Head Cafe, just across the road is a perfect local breakfast spot
